GATEKEEPERS “Access Granted - Access Denied” Oct. 27th 2019 I. The Three-fold Nature of Man Genesis 1:26-27. “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him, male and female created he them.” The Body 1 Corinthians 3:2-3, “I have fed you with milk, and not with meat; for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?” The Spirit Our spirit comes to life. The Holy Spirit, the very Spirit of God comes into our spirits and restores us relationally to God. Romans 8:9, “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you…” The Soul Our soul is made up of our will, intellect, and emotion. Romans 8:5-8, “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. [6] For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. [7] Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. [8] So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” By walking or living in the spirit, we reach our highest potential. And the soul is our place of decision. The Gatekeeper of our life. II. What Is Conscience? 1 Timothy 1:5, “Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned.” A good conscience. A pure conscience, A clear conscience, A defiled or seared conscience. Conscience is a God-given instrument of discernment A Gatekeeper An Umpire A Fire Alarm A Gatekeeper III. Why Am I Like I Am?
